Text: Daniel 6:1-18
Title: Longing and Hope
There are seasons of life when we live by faith, a sure foundation that helps to make sense of our lives. But there are times when faith falters, when it is wholly inadequate for carrying us through the ups and downs of life, when the contradictions between our faith and our longings can shatter our hearts. It is a hard lesson, but sometimes, it is not enough to live by faith; we must learn to live by hope. As we enter the season of Advent, we will consider what it means to be people of hope.
Questions for Reflection
1. What longings in your life are causing your faith in God to falter?
2. As you think about your deepest longings, what might be the difference between living by faith and living by hope?
